Volunteering in Kodiakanal

India

Kodaikanal (pronounced co day canal) is a town in the state of Tamil Nadu, South India. It is a hill station town. Hill stations were very popular in the Colonial days and it is where people would go to escape the heat in the Summer. The hottest months in Kodaikanal are April, May and June and the coldest months are December and January. Being high up a mountain, there is regular mist and light rain all year and the area is very green. Lots of very cheap internet cafe's in the area. Local town everything 10 minutes walk. Supermarkets, markets, etc. 24 hour ATM's in town that accept UK debit cards. There are no bars / clubs in the area - alcohol is generally frowned upon in rural India.
